So I looked back over my posts and noticed that I had not updated you, my readers, on all of our adventures.

You know we had to move from east TN rather suddenly. You knew we went to NM. Well guess where we are now? Georgia. See? Rather an adventure.

We headed out from TN in August. It took us 4 days to get to OK, where most of my family lives, to visit them. We even considered staying there, but then decided to stick with our original plan to go to New Mexico. We're glad we did.

New Mexico is aptly nicknamed "The Land of Enchantment". There is something that pulls you there and even if you leave the state, you've carried something out with you. And no, it's not the sand. lol

But the job situation isn't the best out there (is it anywhere?). We had a great house, met some wonderful people, had fun seeing some of the sites, but the job wasn't going to support us for long.

It was a great 5 week vacation!

Back east we come.

One of the main reasons for coming back was our midwife. I'm a pretty private person when it comes to things like giving birth, and I don't like having to get to know someone new, especially so close to the actual event. Our midwife is great!

Since we obviously couldn't go back to the house we were in, we had to find another place close to our midwife. A long-time friend generously offered to let us stay in his house until the baby is born and for how ever long we need to afterward.

So while we are back east we are not exactly where we were. And who knows where we'll go next!

It has been one great adventure. :)

I have more pictures of these statues. They are really awesome. Some of them look like they are floating. Most of them only have the tip of the hoof on the ground. Anyone know how they do this?

Please excuse the poor quality of the pictures. They were taken from a moving van. The mountains in New Mexico are dynamic. They are so rugged, yet they have a beauty that just stays with you. There is a reason NM is called "The Land of Enchantment".

still here

Well, I'm still here...but we don't have internet at home, so I have to squeeze some computer time in at the library.

I am also going to change my blog a little. I've gotten some really strange comments on my blog and I'm seriously considering changing to invitation only. So here's what I need from my readers: let me know if you think that's a good idea and let me know if you want an invitation to read my blog. I'll wait a few days since I know that most of you are busy moms yourselves.

Just so you know, we're still having fun out here in this dry, New Mexico land. People are really nice and the weather is great!

I really hope to get a few pictures on here soon. How many of you have seen White Sands? It's fabulous really.

Hello New Mexico

I really wish I could put some pictures on here of all we have seen since we've been here. But we don't have internet yet, and I'm borrowing a computer at a friend's house. I have some pictures online, but I don't know how to get them over here without downloading to our friend's computer. Oh well, I'm sure I'll get some on here soon.

We're all really enjoying this new location. It's very dry compared to east TN. That was soooo humid! My clothes actually get dry on the clothesline here! lol

The mountains are beautiful. Also so different from the Smokies, but still they have their own beauty.

We've been to White Sands. The kids had a blast there playing in the hills of sand. They were able to borrow some sleds and sled down the hills. It's just like snow; only not cold!

The town is small enough to not get lost (too much), but large enough to meet most of our needs. We will have to travel out of town for buying in bulk like at Sam's Club or Costcos. But the Wal-Mart Supercenter is here and also a small grocery store. We've been shopping there (the grocery store) more because the produce is cheaper and they make fresh tortillas! Last week they were giving out samples. Yum! There's nothing like a warm, fresh tortilla.

So overall, we're having a good time. I'm not going to say we are living a dream; we have our problems. But I am determined to only put the positive on here. Except for the rattlesnakes...and scorpions. But those are just a fact of life around here. So ignore that part. :)
