Word-filled Wednesday - 1 Peter 2:2

The purpose of Word filled Wednesday is to share God’s word (no famous quotes or other literature — only the beautiful word of our Father) through photo’s & a Bible verse!

This is brought to you by Amydeane over at The 160 Acre Woods.

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
1 Peter 2:2

My almost 2 year old when she was born.

My almost 2 year old now.

It's amazing how much a baby grows in 2 years. They learn how to crawl, sit up, walk, talk, play with others, eat adult food, and so many other things. How much more should born-again believers grow as they feed on the Word of God?

Word-filled Wednesday - Proverbs 22:1

"A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches,
and loving favour rather than silver and gold."
~ Proverbs 22:1

Yeah, I'm weird.

Word-filled Wednesday - Psalm 103:12

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. ~ Psalm 103:12

In case you're wondering, the first picture is a sunrise, the second is a sunset; east to west. :) Isn't it a wonderful reminder?

Word-filled Wednesday - Ephesians 4:32

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
~ Ephesians 4:32

My oldest son, picking me "flowers". We were visiting family at Seymour-Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC. They got to go out to the flightline to see the jets take off. (That's why he has earplugs in...it's really loud). He was kind to pick me "flowers", and I was kind enough to take them off his hands. :) I also forgave him (and he didn't even know it). Seriously, though, isn't any offering from a child's hand so precious? I love when my kids give me things they've made or picked themselves. I've always got pictures hung up that they've drawn. In the summer there is usually a bouquet of "flowers" somewhere inside. So far they've refrained from picking the flowers I planted. Maybe because they had a part in planting them. My favorite offering, of course, is when my 5 year old brings me a cold can of diet Dr Pepper. Ahh...that deserves a kiss.

Word-filled Wednesday - Matthew 6:28-29

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Matthew 6:28-29

Just a reminder of how much God cares for us. As I plan my gardens, both flower and vegetable, I grow amazed at the beauty and wonder of God's creation. It's so wonderful how much variety there is in both the practical fruits and vegetables, and the beauty of flowers that one can only look at. Of course the really neat thing is that some flowers are used in herbal remedies and can be used in teas. So, the next time you see the daffodils growing along the roadside, thank God for His provision and love.

Word-filled Wednesday

The verse, actually Psalm, that came to me this morning was Psalm 121.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
~ Psalm 121

Word-filled Wednesday - Be Quiet

Because today is Quiet Day, my verse for Word filled Wednesday comes from 1 Thessalonians 4:11.

"And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;"

And I'll leave ya hangin'. Go look up the rest of the passage for more. :)

This picture is from our library reading hour. Get it? Library? Quiet? Ok, ok this was the best I could come up with.

Word-filled Wednesday

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Luke 11: 9, 10

If any of you have been wondering about my bank card, I'll set your minds at ease. I found it. This morning. In the washing machine. I'm guessing I left it in my shirt pocket. That's highly unusual for me. I always put things back where I found them. Oh well, not this time. I'm just glad I found it. :) That brightened up my day. I needed it since it's so dreary and overcast outside.

Word-filled Wednesday

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ~Hebrews 4:12
