I loved reading about your 4th of July memories.  

 

My favorite 4th of July was probably one I remember as a teen.  Growing up the big thing to do on the 4th was attending the 4th of July Rodeo in Wright City, OK (a town close to my grandparents).  This particular one my younger aunt and I were allowed to walk around the carnival by ourselves.  We had so much fun.  After riding the rides we wanted, we went to watch the rodeo.  We made sure to get to the rodeo in time for the bull-riding (our favorite part).  The big finale at the end of the rodeo was the fireworks with the last one being an American flag lit up in the arena.  It was a great night. :)

I can't remember the last time I had a giveaway of my very own on here.  The last few times I've talked about giveaways, they've been from another blog.

But this time it's my very own giveaway...of my very own soap...that I made on my very own.

Baby time is getting closer.

I've started looking at more cloth diapers. And today I found a fantastic giveaway over at So Easy Being Green.

I don't wear necklaces but I want one

So I've been trying to get my hands on a certain necklace for a while now. And I don't normally wear necklaces. Odd thing to be sure.

The deal is this though. While I don't usually accessorize with a necklace, I do have a nursing baby. When they reach a certain age, they like to grab and play with what they see in front of them. And when they are nursing sometimes that thing they grab is the nursing cover. Yikes! I DO NOT want to be exposing myself to just anyone who happens to be walking by. So I really, really want something for baby to play with.

And that something is a Mommy Necklace. These necklaces don't break (they are equipped with a break-away clasp) and they are in pretty colors to attract baby's attention. I've been wanting a Bermuda dangling donut necklace. To understand what I'm talking about you'll have to follow the link. :)

Also, they are made right here in America by work-at-home moms. Moms that are able to test the quality and durability of these necklaces in real life situations.

Think I have it all together? Think again. lol

Sometimes I have to laugh at strangers who think I'm the most patient, most organized, most whatever mom. I have my moments. Anyone with more than one child knows that there is a lot that goes on when you have more than one person to care for. When you have more than the average American family, well...you can imagine I'm sure.

Don't get me wrong, we don't live in utter chaos. But there is at least once a day that it can seem to get pretty hectic. And that's why I try to find all the ideas, tips, and/or suggestions I can for help.

if you cloth diaper part 2

So, yesterday I posted about a cloth wipes giveaway, now there is a cloth diaper giveaway (I love these!).

I found this site through Cloth Diaper Blog. Every week she posts about the cloth diapers giveaways on other blogs. One this week is from Monkey Tales.

Oddly enough, the cloth diaper being given away came from Three Monkeys. No connection except the name. Cute, huh?


And speaking of cute. Wow! There are so many cute diapers on that site. I was asked to choose a favorite, and after perusing the possibilities I thought, "HA! How am I supposed to choose a favorite with so many cute fabrics?"

And the price? Perfect! (Seriously, they are less expensive than, well, all of the others I've looked at).

So, if you are into cloth diapering or know someone who is, I highly recommend checking out this giveaway. Honestly, even if I don't win, these are so affordable that I just might be purchasing some. The hard part will be limiting myself. :)

I really want to switch from disposable diapers to cloth. Since I don't have a lot of extra money at my disposal, I have to enter as many giveaways as I can.

For example, The Inquisitive Mom is having a giveaway for cloth wipes from Bummas. These aren't your ordinary, boring, white. They come in a variety of bright or soft colors.


I didn't think about it at first, but doesn't it make sense if you're going to do cloth diapers to have some cloth wipes, too? Right now, I've already given up on disposable wipes, and am using regular wash cloths. But I'll need those for baths (eventually) and so I really hope I win these wipes. But if not, I'll pick some up sometime.
