I love Fridays...for the chocolate. Of course, right now, it's totally torture since I can't have the stuff! Aaahhhrrrrggggg...the agony of it all!
Well, whatever. I'll share a recipe with you regardless. And after you get this one, go over to Lisa's and see what she has and what others have linked up.
Eat and enjoy. ('Cause I sure can't). :)

Frosted Cocoa Cookies
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup baking cocoa
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
Frosting:
1/3 cup butter, softened
3 cups confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup baking soda
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
3 to 4 teaspoons milk
In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa; gradually add to cream mixture and mix well.
Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls. Place two inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 13-16 minutes, or until set. Remove to wire racks to cool.
For frosting, in a small mixing bowl, combine the butter, confectioners' sugar, cocoa, and extract. Add enough milk to achieve desired consistency. Drizzle over cookies.

These look delicious. I love almond extract and just about anything with that delightful flavor is a hit in my book.
