I've been following the McCombs Plan and today started the 9th week. That means I can add back in popcorn, nuts, legumes, dried fruit, and fruit juice. As I was getting a handful of mixed nuts I thought of something. There are things that I'll eat now, that I wouldn't have touched as a child. Here are a few: mayonnaise, cashews, cole-slaw, ranch dressing, cranberries.
Some things I absolutely wouldn't eat, but now, I can eat them if they are cooked in other things, like mushrooms and olives. (I still can't just eat them alone).
Of course, there are some things that are the same. I didn't like them as a child and I don't like them now. Jelly on my peanut butter sandwich (I love Nutella though), and raisins. My kids however could live on PB&J sandwiches and raisins. Go figure.
How about you? Are there some things you like or at least can eat now, that you couldn't stand as a child? Are there things you used to love as a child, but now can't stomach?
Until next time...

Oh yes! As a child I strongly disliked meatloaf. Now I LOVE it (My kids on the other hand feel the same way I did as a child lol)
As a child I would eat chicken roll cold cuts every day. Just thinking about the name makes me want to gag! I haven't touched it since high school ;)
I didn't like salad, but now I love my mom's salad. Hers has all the yummy stuff in it! I've always loved hot cocoa. I guess some things never change:)
Squash - I love it now, but hated it as a child. And you want to know something strange.. I used to LOVE liver... my grandmother made the best.. but now I can't stand it. LOL
Great post!
Mayo, celery, sour kraut, cole-slaw, ranch dressing, and milk- I couldn't eat them when I was younger, now I like eating all of them.

I wouldn't touch mayo when I was a kids either... now I love mayo on my tuna salad but it has to be Hellman's. I won't eat any other brand. I couldn't stand peanut butter either. When I was pregnant with Samuel I fell in love with it and now it is one of my favorite treats.
