Amish Friendship Bread recipe and starter recipe
Have you ever tasted Amish Friendship bread? It's so yummy. It takes 10 days to make and its worth it.
First you have to make the starter or get one from a friend. I found a great starter on this website.
The only difference I found was that at the end of the 10 days I actually had enough to dip out 4 cups of new starter. And since I was ambitious and started with 2 starters, I now have 8 starters!
Now this recipe enables you to make 2 loaves of bread on the 10th day (after you've dipped out the extra starters) so I had 4 loaves today (which goes fast in this house). And if I keep all of those starters and just continue on with it, I will have 16 loaves of bread next Saturday! Of course that also means 32 new starters! I realize I can freeze these or give them away (which is actually the point of Amish Friendship Bread). I just haven't decided what to do with them yet.
I did decide to write this post, because I wasn't sure how these would travel in the mail. So you my friends, now have access to the recipe and you can start the Amish Friendship Bread in your area.
Until next time...
