WFMW - color-coded towels

[wfmwbannerKRISTEN.jpg]

I've read several of these, but this is the first time I've joined in on this particular carnival.

Works-For-Me-Wednesday is hosted by We Are THAT Family.

What works for me is different color towels and washcloths for everyone. I know that some people can't afford that, and actually I couldn't either. My mom bought them. (Thanks, Mama). Actually, the only towel I bought on here was mine; the light teal one on the bottom right. My hubby's is the dark purple one on the top right and my Grandma sent that one for Christmas. She sent two, and I exchanged it for the other one so we would have different colors. Wait, technically I didn't buy it. Wow, the only towels I've bought are the old ones. They are also hung up in order according to age (except mine). The matching washcloths are kept in a basket on the back of my toilet. But currently there is only one in there (the rest are dirty).

So, you can see the two towels for my hubby and me (the ones I pointed out before) and the 9 for the children. After only the first or second time of them using their towel they new which one was theirs. They also knew who the others belonged to. It's so easy to know who to call to come pick up their towel when I see it laying on the floor. It has certainly simplified my life.

For more tips on what can work for you, go visit We Are THAT Family, and click on the links. She's also having a giveaway this week.

Until next time...

What a great idea! I will have to think on how to phase this one in!

We use color coded towels too! Now, when a wet towel is on the floor, there's no confusion about who should take care of it.

We actually are ready to replace all our towels. After all the use they get they are fraying to nothing. My problem is we have no place to hang so many towels so all the kids use one until it is soaked then the next bather takes a fresh one and they all end up in the laundry room. Our bathroom is so tiny...no kidding...tiny...26 sq. foot... there is no place to put a towel rod...OK. Now my family has just told me that I am weird and have taken blogging too far because I asked them to count the bathroom tiles so I could estimate the square footage...Note they didn't think it was weird a half hour ago when they were clowing with my hubby and he stuck a plastic bag on his head like a hat...why do you think that is???
