Wonders of baking soda
Baking soda has many wonderful uses.
Cleaning (see Kim's post about her teacups)
as a toothpaste (which is also cleaning I guess)
odor remover (example: placed in refrigerator/freezer)
water softener (in the wash)
baking
bee stings
The one we just used a few minutes ago. Make a paste of baking soda and a little water and plaster it on the spot that got stung. It draws out the poison.
Aahh...the wonders of baking soda.
If you know of any that I didn't list, please let me know about them in the comments below.
Also, here's a great resource for all the uses of baking soda. I might invest in this book sometime.
We really, really like baking soda. :)
Until next time...

Hi Jen,
Yes, baking soda on a bee sting does work well; that is what I always use.
Also, I do like the sweet taste left in my mouth after brushing with baking soda, however, I use a little salt when brushing with baking soda to make it easier to handle the flavor of the baking soda. I do not like the initial gritty contact of the baking soda against my teeth…it makes me shudder, as does the scratching sound of a pan placed in the kitchen sink when the scouring powder is not fully rinsed away…others might relate better to the scratching on a chalk board, although that sound has never bothered me, in fact, I like it.
Fun post!

I knew some of those...but thanks for sharing them all. I didn't know about bee stings. Cool.
I use baking soda for so much. It's also great for a facial mask for acne. My daughter has done this. Though not to use every day as it will dry out the skin.
Did my post spur this? LOL
Hugs
Kim
I like brushing teeth with baking soda. A paste of baking soda and water is good for stain removal from some fabrics. We also use it in place of commercial cleanser for sinks and tubs.
Hope that bee sting is doing ok.
it's great for indigestion as well...a teaspoon in a 1/2 cup of water--drink it fast. (tastes nasty, makes you burp, but you'll feel better)
Baking soda can truly work miracles!
