is cheap sometimes better?

The sunset last night (ignore the date on the picture).

This first picture was taken with my husband's camera; approximately $100 at Wal-Mart.

This next picture was taken with MY camera; approximately $300+ at Sam's Club

Taken at the same time, from the same location and direction. It looks like the cheaper camera captured the color better than my more expensive one.

Or maybe my oldest is just a better photographer than me.

Nah.

Until next time...

You know kids these days -- they seem to know a whole lot more about electronic devices than we older folks do, LOL! :P

You should try messing around with the lighting settings on your digicam. I just recently discovered this, and it has made a world of difference in my pictures :o)

Perhaps it is the setting? I am always confused by so many choices and so many options at such a large range of prices on just about everything out there these days. We have just made it a habit to read consumer reports and follow their recommendations. They have never steered us wrong from expensive purchases like cameras and video equipment and appliances to everyday things like laundry detergent and dish washing powder. We have saved so much money and hassle over the years that we just feel like the subscription price is well worth every penny.
